Good Nursing and Medical Training offers The Certified Medication Aide Training Program designed to prepare Certified Nursing Assistants to meet the requirements to administer medications in assisted livings facilities in Georgia. The course focuses on the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted living facility, which include the role of the CAN and the CMA. The course curriculum includes the basic principles and techniques about medication and medication administration, overview/classification of common drugs, pharmacology, effects and side effects, interactions, common medication errors, OTC drugs: effects and side effects, documentation of drug administration, and state rules and regulations.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the State Computerized Examination proctored by our State-Approved RN Instructors. After successful completion of the state exam and payment for licensure, the student’s name will be placed on the medication aide registry as a Certified Medication Aide.
